Course Synopsis

Visual storytelling takes advantage of our brains preference for visual information over text. Research shows that the key to learning and engagement is emotion. By intentionally using and creating visual icons adn stories, we are activating our learners intuitive right brain and triggering emotional connections, stimulating imagination, boosting retention and big picture thinking. This will helps students to communicate with more confidence and impact.

Our half day session will provide you a foundation of the tools, and techniques of studying and thinking visually, as well as hands on practise in using visual tools for ideas generation, creating impactful presentation, individual and group learning.

About Your Trainers

1) Tim Hamons, Master Visual Facilitator and speaker has worked with hundreds of individuals, dozens of institutions, leadership teams and organizations to capture and synthesize the ideas, discussions, and decisions of their most important business and learning events, using visual and creative tools. A BSA graduate in Design and Communication, Tim is a visual strategist, facilitator and creativity consultant with over 20 years of experience in the corporate world, largely developing and delivering visual communication programs, creativity trainings, and facilitating events using a combination of storytelling, process tools, and live sketching.


2) Angela Tan is a visual communicator who earned her BSc in Information System and Computer Science. She has over 17 years of professional experience in corporate client training, sales presentations, and project management in IT and financial services industry. She is passionate about effective communications through visual note-taking, graphics recording, and graphics facilitation. Angela is also a self-taught artist and a proud mom who receives her inspiration from nature and children’s fresh perspective of the world around them. Through her journey with her child with Dyslexia, she reaches out to children with learning difficulties and special needs through creative life coaching and therapeutic art experiences.


3) Chan Wai, Facilitator, embarked in advertising in 1983 BC (Before Computers), when everything was hand-drawn. He went from visualiser to Art Director in advertising agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO and McCann Erickson. Drawing cartoons is his #1 love. Hence , he returned to his roots with Sketch Post in 2013. His advertising background and experiences has honed his conceptual thinking and he applied it to his work there. With graphic recording, he enjoys the instant connection with people. Whenever someone comes up to say they like their sketch, it’s the greatest feeling in the world! He said, “it is like he has enriched their life” – which is an artist’s true intent, he supposes.
